Healthcare Computing has successfully renewed their Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Cyber Essentials Plus is a Government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common online threats. The scheme certifies that Healthcare Computing protects its IT systems against common cyber threats, proves to customers its data security ethics, and enables HC to bid for future Government contracts.
Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation required an independent third-party audit and involved a more rigorous check into a HC’s IT services.
Overall, the certification assesses five key security controls:
- Internet connection security
- Devices and software security
- Controlled access to data and services
- Protection from viruses and malware
- Updating devices and software
Successfully renewing its Cyber Essentials Plus certification proves HC’s commitment to maximising its own cyber security and the security of their NHS customers. This is in line with their customers’ mission to follow the NHS’s Cyber Security Programme, that works to ensure that measures are actively in place to protect NHS assets and services.
Alistair Samways, Chief Information Officer, said: “We’re thrilled to have successfully renewed our Cyber Essentials Plus certification. As an IT Support provider for NHS organisations, the cyber security of our customers has been always front of mind. Achieving certifications like Cyber Essentials Plus is just one example of our dedication to continue protecting our NHS customers from potential cyber threats.”
