HC employee makes a difference in South Africa community project
One of HC’s Service Desk technicians, Merve Akcam went to Africa on a sabbatical during the summer of 2013, spending 6 months helping different community projects.
She spent 2 months in Mozambique and 4 months in South Africa looking after children at Footprints, an independent Children’s Home and Women’s Refuge.
During Merve’s stay, she witnessed one of the biggest hail and thunder storms that the area had ever experienced, which caused damage to the Refuge’s already vulnerable roof.
Healthcare Computing made a donation of £200 to help with an emergency solution at this time of need. It is great to know that the donation went directly to those who needed it and when they needed it.
We recently received a letter of appreciation from Footprints. We are very proud of the caring culture among HC employees, in addition to our corporate efforts, and we will strive to support this going forward.
