Healthcare Computing certified as carbon neutral
Healthcare Computing is pleased to announce that is now a certified Carbon Neutral organisation. HC has achieved carbon neutral status under the Carbon Footprint Standard, making it the “greenest team on the greenest grid” by offsetting 7.75 tonnes of carbon dioxide each month, helping to combat climate change and sustain our environment for future generations.
To compensate for carbon emissions produced in the natural day-to-day running of a business, Healthcare Computing is working closely with Carbon Footprint Ltd by supporting a Global Portfolio of Verified Carbon Reduction Projects in three ways:
- First by Planting Trees in the UK because trees absorb carbon dioxide to produce oxygen.
- HC is also supporting a Borehole Rehabilitation Project in Uganda to provide local people with a source of clean drinking water.
- And thirdly, it is helping with reducing Deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. This enables the funding of an equivalent CO2e saving elsewhere, as well as allowing Healthcare Computing to achieve Carbon Neutral status.

Neil Payne, Managing Director, for HC stated: “It’s important we all take responsibility for the negative impacts we’re having on our environment. By making these changes Healthcare Computing is reducing and offsetting its carbon footprint. We’re delighted to have achieved carbon neutral status and we hope others will follow our lead.”
