Business Continuity Plan in severe weather
After receiving automated notifications from the met office, warning of ice and snow, HC have tested the provision of our full Service Desk capabilities in bad weather scenarios. HC has a disaster recovery plan to ensure we can always continue to support our customers mission critical NHS services. In a bad weather scenario, our service desk facilities including remote support would be able to assist your GP practice by having our staff working securely from home using our VPN solution.
Richard Hiett, Head of Service says “Although we would need to reduce the engineering service due to unavoidable driving conditions, we would still be able to provide our full service desk facility including remote support for surgeries, this would be achievable by having 80% of our service desk staff working from home using our VPN solution implemented for scenarios like this”.
