HC supports the deployment of the National Vaccination programme in the South England
Ringwood, July 2021 – Every adult in the UK has been offered a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine hitting the Prime Minister’s target ahead of schedule and Healthcare Computing is proud to have played an important role in achieving this milestone. HC has helped the NHS deliver the vaccination programme, by deploying IT equipment and Wi-Fi connectivity to vaccination centres across the South of England.
HC worked in partnership with Hampshire and Isle of Wight CCGs, Dorset CCG, Surrey Heartlands CCG and North West London Collaboration of CCGs to help with the deployment of IT equipment and to ensure the sites had the appropriate internet services to support the setup. For all the vaccination centres, each capable of delivering thousands of vaccinations every week, IT and technology played a vital role in the deployment of the sites, allowing clinicians to access and update patients’ vaccination and medical records.
HC’s engineers deployed within weeks to over 85 vaccination centres across the South of England and London. These sites have been delivering around 100,000 vaccinations weekly, helping to achieve the Prime Minister targets to offer a vaccine to all adults in the UK and to vaccinate two in three adults with both doses by 19 July. Both milestones were achieved by Sunday 18 July ahead of schedule.
Neil Payne, Managing Director, for HC stated: “We are proud to have played our part on the deployment of the national vaccination programme. This was a monumental effort for all our NHS customers, and we are pleased to have supported them deploying the IT equipment required for the programme across the South of England and London, this collective effort is benefiting many people in the country.”
