History
Peter Mann, founder of Healthcare Computing Ltd, has a background in General Practice I.T. After working in various surgeries on a consultancy basis, advising on system upgrades and offering technical support, Peter started Healthcare Computing Limited.
Healthcare Computing Limited have been specialising in GP IT related services for over 12 years now.
In the early years, Healthcare Computing’s primary role was in GP IT support, from hardware & software to user support & 3rd party applications.
Since then, we have grown to support more & more GP practices. With the advent of the GMS Contract in 2004, Healthcare Computing Ltd’s contracts moved to the PCT and Healthcare Computing Ltd continued to grow by recommendation & referral. We now support over 400 GP Practices in 6 Primary Care Trusts.
The service offered by Healthcare Computing Ltd has undergone radical changes over the years becoming a modern, market leading ITIL based managed service desk, there to support over 10,000 users, 8,000 workstations & 1000 servers.
We now offer full remote support services along with proactive monitoring services for switches & servers.
Our specialist knowledge of this unique market has led us to add more and more services, as the needs of the end users & the requirements of the Primary Care Trusts continued to evolve.
Healthcare Computing Ltd has prided itself on its’ understanding of this complex environment and has made it of paramount importance to ensure that we have a full understanding of the Department of Health’s goals regarding the use of IT in Primary Care.
Healthcare Computing Ltd has become more and more involved with the National Programmes being run by Connecting for Health (CfH) and we have played our part in the deployment of Choose & Book and other applications across hundreds of GP Practices as part of the ongoing National Programme for IT (NPfIT).
It is this understanding of this complex layered IT environment that has made Healthcare Computing Ltd’s service so attractive to PCTs.
We are a leading partner of Novell & combining the CfH funded Novell product suite with our knowledge of Primary Care IT allows us to offer an unrivalled remote management & deployment solution for PCTs across England.
