Healthcare Computing rebranding

Posted by Healthcare Computing Webmaster on Wednesday, 13 October, 2010

Look out for our new website which will be launched in the next few weeks. The new ‘look and feel’ is part of our ongoing business strategy, and includes a new logo and website.

This is a freshen-up to represent our commitment to the brand, to our customers and to the future of technology in the healthcare industry – but we are still very much Healthcare Computing.

New Engineers and Scheduling Manager

Posted by Arzu Dolatabad on Tuesday, 27 July, 2010

New Engineers and Scheduling Manager at Healthcare Computing Ltd.

At HCL we recently went  through a review of our scheduling and engineer management process and structure.

As a result of this review we made the decision to merge the Engineers’ Manager and Scheduling Manager positions in to one role.

In the past these roles have been separated due to work load, so to enable us to merge this role we have invested time and effort to streamline and automate the manual time consuming elements of the role. This change will hugely improve the relationship between the engineers and office staff in terms of improved communications and clearer management structure.

We have run a comprehensive recruitment process involving a panel of staff from relevant departments, Service, HR and Engineers to fill the new vacancy.

Engineers were consulted and a new role was created, tailored to the needs of Engineers.

After holding internal interviews the panel have weighed up all the options and have made a decision to recruit an internal applicant.

I am very pleased to announce that our good colleague Scott Pelvin has been appointed to this position.

Scott has been with Healthcare Computing Ltd since  September 2007  and has gained a wide range of experience working in different departments such as First and Second line support and Network Field Engineer.

Scott is very excited to work with you all on this different capacity and make this newly created position a huge success.

As we always do at Healthcare Computing we will support him in his new role as it will be challenging and we will share our ideas and feedback with him.

Scott will started his new position on 14th July 2010.

I would like to congratulate Scott on behalf of all of us at Healthcare Computing and wish him great success.

Corrupt McAfee update has been fixed

Posted by Andy Morley Software Developer on Monday, 17 May, 2010

Last month McAfee released a corrupt DAT file (5958) that could have caused issues with Windows. The update included detections for malware variants, but falsely indentified a threat on the svchost.exe Windows system file, which resulted in your PC not booting anymore.

McAfee have successfully rolled out the new updates, which have resolved all problems.

If you do have any issues at all, please do not hesitate to contact the Healthcare Computing Service Desk on 01425 470888.

Surgery Website

Posted by Andy Morley Software Developer on Monday, 10 May, 2010

Whether you need a basic website with just a few pages, or you require a large website with full content management, Healthcare Computing can meet your organisation’s needs. Our Website template provides a cost-effective way to offer a platform for building an information store that can flex and scale easily to meet the changing and growing needs of your practice.

You may require a website that allows you to edit the content yourself, without having any programming knowledge. This is achieved through a web-based administration portal. The system allows you to add/edit/delete pages to your website whenever you like, giving you complete control over your own website.

The Website solution has been developed with security as a top priority! All patient and customer data is encrypted before being sent across the unsecure Internet, hiding sensitive user information from eavesdroppers.

Contact Healthcare Computing for further information.

McAfee Update Problem

Please be aware that the latest McAfee DAT file released by McAfee overnight is corrupted. The update can cause issues with Windows, and can stop your PC from booting.  If you reboot your workstation, this action will result in the workstation going into a boot loop.

FOR ALL SITES RUNNING MCAFEE VIRUS PRODUCTS, PLEASE DO NOT REBOOT YOUR PC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

A fix has been developed and deployment will be ongoing.

If you do have any issues at all, please do not hesitate to contact the Healthcare Computing Service Desk on 01425 470888.
